Visiting Phoenix in the summer isn't as bad as it sounds. I can hear it now, what about those 100 degree or more days? You've probably heard that it's a dry heat. And after all, there's air conditioning everywhere.
There are several good reasons to visit Phoenix in the off season. For one, it's not as crowded since the winter visitors are gone. Families are on vacation so there's less traffic and congestion. And best of all, there are bargains to be had. Most of the well known resorts that normally cost "mucho dinero" offer their lowest rates at this time.
The Phoenician Resort is a perfect example. This ex
clusive resort is a beautiful place to visit, offering five-diamond cuisine, golf, tennis and a spa to die for. I've had a massage or two at this place and I'd go back in a heart beat. They have a fabulous pool with a mother of pearl bottom...can you believe that? They have all the luxuries you can think of. In the high season it is very expensive. But in the summer, they offer summer escape packages from May 18 through September 14 with rates as low as $219. That's a great bargain!
Another option is the Camelback Inn. This luxurious resort has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. World class golf, tennis, pools, casitas and did I mention their spa? I've also had the opportunity to have the most relaxing massage in their spa. They offer great summer package deals starting at $159 a night. That's a great price for this place! They also have a spa package at $259 per night and that includes two 60 minute spa treatments per day and full breakfast for two.
You can also arrange a day trip to Sedona or Flagstaff. They are less than a two hour drive from Phoenix and the temperatures are definitely cooler.
So, take advantage of these great summer travel bargains. There's still lots to do like shopping and sight seeing.
